Once upon a time, there lived a reluctant accountant named Nancy Cummings who suffered from shyness and a lack of social skills. To conquer her fear of public speaking, she took an improv comedy class, which opened a new world that includes membership in I Miss Trevor, an improv/sketch comedy troupe and a part-time university gig teaching accounting and management. Now some of her best stories end up on stage or in the classroom.
She’s conquered formidable roles such as the drunken suffragette sidekick to Lady Lucinda, Vaudeville song stylist Mitzi, and Reporter #2. In real life, she’s the Collector of Fabric Inventory with her older sister, Partner in Crime with her two older brothers, Idyllic Daughter, and Friend and Sidekick who’ll talk your ear off. She likes words, board games, bad dates, dogs, cookies and cupcakes, the ocean, and any combination of the aforementioned. She earned a BA in economics and accounting at College of the Holy Cross and an MBA in accounting and MIS at the University of Scranton. Twenty some years ago, by choice and conscription, she returned to northeastern Pennsylvania, the home whose honor she defends regularly to those who pretend there’s nothing to do here.
