StorySlam Judge Catherine Shefski is a pianist, writer and teacher. Originally from Tunkhannock, she moved away after high school and lived in Boston and then Philadelphia before returning to the area six years ago to open The Music Studio in Clarks Summit. In addition to a teaching studio, The Music Studio was the setting for a series of Salon Concerts which were presented with the support of grants from the Lackawanna County Arts Council. Over the years, she’s also written several screenplays, one of which went on to be a finalist in the Set in Philadelphia Screenwriting Contest. Her current goal is to overcome procrastination and perfectionism by recording one piano piece each week for a year and posting it online at soundcloud.com/allpiano.
