John Pivovarnick is an actor, director, and writer from Dunmore, Pennsylvania. As an actor he studied with two time Academy Award winner Glenda Jackson. He has appeared in the films Paper Heart (winner of the 2009 Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the Sundance film festival), Come Clean, and Rat Bastard. He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild. On stage he’s played roles as diverse as Vladimir in Waiting for Godot, Falstaff in Twelfth Night, and Cindy Brady in The Brady Bunch Live! John has directed shows in Los Angeles and Philadelphia, as well as in Northeastern PA. He’s published over a dozen books, including Theatrical FX Makeup (with Dave Sartor. Heineman, 2001), several titles in the Complete Idiot’s Guide series, and other technical nonfiction. In 1985 he won a Pennsylvania Council of the Arts grant in literature for his novel Tales from the Back of the Bus.
