Marilyn Pryle has taught writing, English literature and ESL for over sixteen years. She has lived and taught in Philadelphia, Boston, and Scranton. Interestingly, she began her career in Kathmandu, Nepal, as a Jesuit International Volunteer. In Boston, Marilyn created and taught a full-time eighth-grade writing workshop; this experience served as the springboard for both Teaching Students to Write Effective Essays and Purposeful Conferences–Powerful Writing. She currently lives in Clarks Green, Pennsylvania, with her husband and children where she teaches 10th grade World Literature at Abington Heights High School.  She is a graduate of the University of Scranton and has an MFA in Creative Writing from  Emerson College in Boston.  In addition to teaching, she loves writing poetry and essays.
