Cy Douaihy grew up in West Side and went on to graduate from St. Francis College of Loretto, Pa. with a B.A. in History/Political Science. He later earned a Master’s degree from Marywood in Managerial Science. Cy taught History & Government in the Scranton School District, including West Side High School, for 35 years before retiring, and he has spent the last nine years at the University of Scranton teaching and supervising in the Student Teacher program. He’s coached football and track & field for 45 years.
Cy is married to the former Jane Jenkins. Together, during their marriage of 45 years, they raised two great sons, Douglas and Matthew (who passed in 2011).
Community service is something that Cy takes seriously. He is an active member of St. Ann’s Maronite Church, and is currently running for Scranton School Board.
